Creativity takes courage.
~Henri Matisse
I never thought I could do art, much less become an artist. I was intimidated by those who could look at an object and draw it perfectly. It was not until I was well into adulthood that I began to understand that art is a way to speak without words; to capture the essence of rhythm, harmony and contrasts of my unformed words. It doesn’t need to be perfect.
As an artist, I perceive the spirit of my subject. Whether my subject is an everyday object, nature, or the human form, I hope to project an intimate vision of life and the mystery of the unknown self. My art speaks the words that hide from me and casts my narrative to the viewer to feel and hear my words. Art is my courage.
